“Quincie” Piano Quintet receives fourth and brilliant full performance!
On Sunday July 7th 2019 at 2.45pm in the Horwich Community Centre (Bolton, Lancashire, UK) my new piano quintet received its fourth and final (the last in a four -concert run spanning a whole year) performance by the wonderful Pennine Ensemble as part of the Horwich Music Festival 2019. What a brilliant end to a very important and moving musical year in my life this has been! Over the past full year the Pennine Ensemble have tirelessly worked with me on the rehearsals and performances of this huge piece, helping me revise and tweek it and offering their expert advice on writing well for their instruments. This has all enabled me to work at this score and make it as perfect as I possibly can, something that has only been possible because of all the wonderful rehearsals and performances. Not all new music is so lucky as to receive such amazing attention at the start of its life, so I feel immensely lucky, blessed and full of gratitude to the Pennine Ensemble for all their commitment and hard work in making “Quincie” really soar!
Here it is…..
